Situated in the historic Kensington neighborhood of San Diego, this project involved the ground-up construction of a two-story guest house designed to expand a growing family's living space. While the primary residence is a classic Spanish Historic home abutting a lush canyon, the clients requested a bold architectural departure. The exterior embraces a sleek, modern aesthetic, while the interior pays homage to the main home’s heritage with subtle Spanish-inspired accents. Adhering to strict historic preservation guidelines, the new structure remains detached to ensure the original home's integrity is preserved. This "mini-loft" serves as a sophisticated, private retreat for visiting guests.
